The Art of Answering Open-Ended Science Questions

Have that “Eureka” moment with your child!

Picture this — your child has been stuck on a seemingly impossible Science open-ended question for a couple of hours.

First, frustration sets in. Then, anger. Just as he is about to throw in the towel, a sudden stroke of genius hits him. That head scratcher becomes a piece of cake.

“Eureka!” he exclaims.

We know just how awesome that feeling is — that sense of elation when confusing becomes understood, when unsolved becomes answered. By teaching students how to identify distinguishing features of different open-ended questions, empowering them to ask effective questions linked to relevant scientific concepts, we enhance students’ likelihood of success at the PSLE. Open-ended questions are what differentiates an A from an A*.
