The P1 English & Mathematics Preparatory programme is designed to bridge the gap between Kindergarten and Primary 1. The structured coursework ensures students undergo gradual exposure to the demands of the Primary 1 & 2 syllabi for English and Mathematics, to prepare them for what they will face in the years ahead.  

This course will provide young learners a significant head start and solid foundation in their quest to excel in primary school education.

The English programme contains themes that interest young children, such as ‘Insects’, ‘Transportation’ and ‘Sea creatures’. With engaging and lively lessons filled with class discussions, stories, games, songs, open-ended questions and interactive whiteboard activities, the world comes alive in the classrooms. Children’s public speaking skills will be developed progressively throughout the year through show-and-tell sessions and frequent interactions with teachers and peers. Foundational creative writing skills are introduced to instill a love for writing and inspire creativity and imagination. Challenging language components such as comprehension and cloze passage will prepare them for formal academic learning.

The Mathematics programme will equip our pre-schoolers with important mathematical concepts. Each concept is introduced through various strategies, including challenging problem-solving questions and activities to develop higher order thinking skills. It is further enhanced through hands-on activities using manipulatives, flashcards, puzzles and interactive whiteboard activities in a fun learning environment.
